Morning starts a cold dreary day
Snow falling from gray skies
Wind howls and swirls
All around is gloom
Tiny prints in white
Animals taking refuge
Like hearts
On the horizon a ray appears
Crocuses peeking through frozen
ground
As the sun disrupts
Sunnier and warmer
Snow
begins melting
Like the flowers
Have hope
