Authors Helping When Tragedy Strikes

Re-posting.
Sometimes we all can use a little help when tragedy strikes. If you can help, please do, every little bit counts.

The lovely Ms. O'Shey has kindly allowed me to hijack her blog and appeal to her fans on behalf of my son - Joshua Moore. Joshua is an excellent copy-editor. He edits all of my writing, except the erotic romances. A little uncomfortable for a young man to edit his father's erotic romance...

He also put his talents to good use in college editing papers for his fellow students. He was quite sought after having earned a 4.0 GPA throughout his time in college working toward a degree in philosophy. That was before he was diagnosed with Acute T-Cell Lymphoblastic Leukemia. With that diagnosis came an end to his studies.

At twenty-one Joshua was one semester away from graduating with honors from University of North Carolina, Greensboro. He only attended one week of that last semester. You can read the story of his diagnosis and subsequent treatment on my blog. Joshua is now beginning a three-and-a-half year treatment program.

Because of cancer he is unable to work, yet faces mounting medical bills and repayment of student loans which came due when he left college.

Joshua hopes to use his talent as an editor to earn enough money to pay his debts and return to school in the spring of 2013. Though I have pledged all my royalties, my savings, and my retirement to his cause it isn't nearly enough. But a dear friend, and fellow erotic author Eden Baylee set up a fund to raise money for Joshua – #IndiesUnite4Joshua – and the Indie community has rallied to the cause.

The Indies Unite for Joshua campaign on IndieGoGo.com is a huge success so far – with authors, editors, and scores of others donating books and services which are being offered to supporters. The outpouring of love and support by my fellow writers and their fans is astounding. If you would like to support Joshua in his battle against Leukemia, or learn more about the campaign, please take a moment to visit Indies Unite for Joshua.
You can also click the link below to donate directly and leave a message of encouragement for Joshua. Everyone donating, either through the link below or through Indies Unite for Joshua will receive a free copy of one of my eBooks. And, as I mentioned before, ALL royalties from any of my book sells goes directly to Joshua's medical bills and student loans.

Please stand with us and help a brilliant young man battle Leukemia and return to finish his studies. If you cannot offer financial assistance please tweet, post, link, like, or otherwise promote the cause. The love, prayers, thoughts, and all around good vibes from the virtual community has held us up more than anything else.

Thank you in advance for your support.

CybrGrrl:
Created to be a sexy desktop companion program, Marie develops sentience and emerges into a life of her own. She leads her users, Adrian and Haley, through an erotic adventure as she processes what it is to be alive. The search leads her onto the Internet, and a virtual-world community where she can live an independent existence unfettered by the limits of her server - alive in the cloud - then back into the real world as a sexy robot. Along the way she teaches Adrian and Haley what it means to live and love beyond the confines of the merely physical and liberates her sister programs from their dull desktop existence.

  3. My brother and then my sister both had leukemia, and thankfully both are in remission. So there is hope that your son will make a complete recovery too.

    Hang in there.

Your son sounds so brilliant. I'm going to buy one of your SF books to show my support.
